They may have the hard skills necessary to perform the tasks, but they lack  the soft skills necessary to obtain and maintain a job.

Who is it for?

  • Young adults on the spectrum ages 18-25 (ask us about opportunities for ages 16-17)
  • Participants do not have developmental disabilities
  • Interns need to have an awareness of their diagnosis

Program Director Nancy Swanberg, MS, LMHC

Nancy Swanberg, MS, LMHC is founder and executive director of The Friendship Network for Children, a nonprofit organization serving children, teen, and young adults on the autism spectrum. She is also a licensed mental health counselor and provides psychotherapy via The Friendship Network.  Additionally, Nancy has a degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, both at the bachelor’s and master’s level. She has been a vocational evaluator and directed rehabilitation programs for adults. Nancy is uniquely qualified to provide “Soft Skills Vocational Training” for Autistic young adults and supervise this program.
